the best summer of your life

what is Camp Adventure?

Our camp began in 1997 with the idea that summertime should be a wonderful time for kids. We’ve planned a full summer of camp for the boys and girls in your life that will make their summer days the greatest days of the year. It’s a fun, safe place for kids. Here’s what we’ve planned!

Our summer-long day camp is centered around the beautiful wooded campus of Shades Mountain Community Church in Bluff Park, Alabama (smcc.church). Camp is from 9:00-4:00 each day for grades K5-8th and 9:00-1:00 for ages 3-4, and we also have an early and late program for grades K5-8th (see details under the early/late show). The facilities are great, just right for an awesome time all summer long. You’ll love it here.

Our camp is for campers ages 3 to entering 8th grade, and they enjoy learning a lot as they have a great time.  They go home feeling that they’ve spent the day with good friends who really care about them as individuals as well as an important part of the group. It’s just the thing for kids enjoying their first camp experience, as well as for “seasoned pros” who have previously been to camp. We’re planning everything carefully to make each week great. We expect most weeks to fill up, so plan on selecting the weeks at the time of registration so you won’t be disappointed by a full camp.

WHY Camp Adventure?

It’s the people at camp who make those memories. Parents tell us our staff makes their kids feel loved and important. We work to help campers build good relationships with adults and other kids. Camp is like a big family whose members encourage and strengthen each other. We’ll do what it takes to make sure your child “fits in” and feels at home with the other campers.

Just wait until you see what we’ve planned for your kids. We’ll make sure your child has a safe and fun time each day at camp!

Once you register, we’ll send you a complete Camp Information Packet in May with all of the details you’ll need to know before camp begins. Camp is more than a vacation; it’s the best summer of your life! Parents tell us their kids can’t wait. Weeks fill up fast, so be ready for registration day!

Attendance at Camp Adventure is open to all children regardless of race, color, religion or ethnic background. Please remember that Camp Adventure is a Christian camp that teaches Biblical principles to our campers.

Camp Adventure

At Camp Adventure, campers entering 2nd–8th grade in the fall get to experience a summer like no other. Each day runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and every moment is designed for maximum fun.

We kick things off with our high-energy Rally—packed with game shows, songs, competitions, and surprises that get everyone cheering. From there, campers rotate through an amazing variety of activities tailored just for them.

Step into The Bus Stop, where the latest video games keep the energy rolling. Get creative at the Creation Station, complete with a giant LEGO pit, oversized chess and checkers, and our legendary Box Lab, where cardboard becomes anything you can imagine.

Need to relax? Head over to The Hangout, where hammocks, Gaga Ball, and even miniature golf make it the perfect chill spot. If you’re ready for thrills, race down our three epic water slides or dive into DIY, where you’ll craft one-of-a-kind projects to take home.

And that’s not all—each week comes alive with a brand-new theme, bringing larger-than-life activities and unforgettable adventures that keep campers excited to see what’s next.

At Camp Adventure, no two days are the same, and every moment is packed with fun, friends, and memories that last a lifetime.

Your little camper will join in their very own camp rally filled with songs, laughter, and activities just their size. They’ll get to experience all of our weekly themes, splash down water slides built for their age, and enjoy the care of counselors who love getting down on their level to play and make camp extra special.
